This exhibition is the result of a series that I started 2 years ago. Here are different topics that interest me and which are associated with the drop shape.
In the beginning was rain, summer 2013, I lived with my family in Sarmingstein, which is a small place right on the Danube. This time is a special occasion for me.
The road to the Wachau was blocked, foggy, so that you could not see the other side of the Danube, rain, rain and bit of sun. Thus the gray drops were formed with colorful rainbow pens, then I was busy with paperwork for some time, and as a next step, the pictures were made with ink on canvas.
Sometimes I use impact metal, which is a very interesting material for me, which can react very differently to different lighting. In the morning, in the evening, with electric light, the image always has a different effect. Furthermore, I would like to show that the gold can also be modern.
Melancholia, as NYC inspiration, my beloved rain has also haunted me there, unreal skyscrapers in the fog that symbolize pink drops, also this rain will soon cease.
I love these pictures, I am very satisfied with the drop series .. I have had a teacher who always told us that you have to be satisfied first, and if you like your things, you will also find the people who will be pleased also. Similarly, if you believe in your visions, your opponents will not destroy you. This is my way of life.
I do not like to talk about my pictures. I'd like to know what associations they have with other people. Spectators often say that the pictures are beautiful, people often do not want to know any more. This is ok for me .. There is a proverb in Russia: "The beauty will save the world."
For myself, the drop shape has different meanings, first, perhaps, it is a symbol of life. Drops are in each of us, everything that lives also consists of water, but something works in my pictures differently than in real life: The law of gravity is put into the question here. I would like to show that everything can work differently, that means freedom for me, and my freedom is to work as a artist.
The image " Dark " was first thought of as self-portrait, then I have summarized this figure, Now this is one of many drops, here transformed into a woman who has special powers and wants to save the world. We do not know whether she will succeed, this is so dark, it may be that she needs help, too. But the darkness and the light change as day and night.
The Triptych " No a la Guerra ". Here I have used genuine shotguns, which destroy everything very easily, everything that is beautiful and precious, also everything that lives. The pictures are constructed in contrasts, the forceful shots here as opposed to the delicate ephemeral drops. Different colors symbolize the resources for which most wars are fought.
So what can you do, as a artist I can paint some good pictures. Otherwise wait, drink tea, enjoy life, meditate ...
